Accommmodations: Berlin is surprisingly cheap in general. You can find reasonable accommodation options in decent conditions at central locations. Only catch is to book in advance. They fill up fast. Check this one:

• Berlin: Hotel Berlin Central Station If you are traveling with a group or do not mind sharing a room with strangers, this hostel is very reasonably priced at around 25 Euros in a small dorm room. The location is superb, right next to the central station.
